5+ stars! We could not have wished for such a beautiful location & cabin to spend our weekend! Just 1 hour & 5 mins, it was the perfect location to drive to from Tyson's! We will be back again soon! |

Peace and Tranquility | |
We had a wonderful stay at this location. It was so peaceful and allowed us all to just escape the everyday hustle. The home was spotless and the view was amazing. We loved the little touches that the housekeepers left to show that they really care that you enjoy your stay. Its the little things that say so much when staying at places away from home. This home had it all and allowed plenty of room to spread out when wanted but cozy enough to all be together and enjoy our time together. The home is a perfect escape that you dont even have to leave if you dont want to. |
Amy (review from Airbnb)
Had a lovely stay. The place was cozy and spotless! Views were amazing. Saw a family of dear walking by right off the balcony. Hot tub was excellent. |

Great getaway spot! | |
Very clean, well stocked and comfortable home! Would appreciate some real glass wine glasses (most was plastic). Great location near Appalachian Trail, but could use some written guidance on easiest way to access it from this property. Would definitely stay again! Response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! The real wine glasses were breaking ALL the time, so we fell back to using plastic (though they are high-quality plastic glasses). We also do include very detailed guidance on accessing the A.T. in the digital guidebook. We would have been happy to point you to the instructions if we new you could not find them. We hope to have you back! |

Mountain Getaway | |
This trip was for my partner and I to get away from everyday chaos and without kids. We were looking for quiet, comfort and both of these were provided. The house felt and smelled like a home. Every need was met without asking. The view was incredible. We did not want to leave. I will have to give a high five on the handbook. One of the most simple yet detailed instructions for everything required. We will be staying there again. |

Very nice cabin with all of the comforts of home. The game room was the highlight for the 4 kids we had with us. Since the pictures don't do it justice, I will share. A full size high quality fooZball table, a top brand ping pong table and a Pop-A-Shot basketball game where two players can play against each other. Electronic with score keeping. The hot tub was a big plus too! Went horse back riding at Dark Spring Stables in Hillsboro and that was fun (20 mins away). Go to Harper's Ferry downtown and visit shops, have food and visit the park. There are also many caverns around which are worth exploring. We went to Skyline Caverns which is less than an hour away. There are others near Harper's Ferry too. Having the Appalachian trail right out the door was nice. We hiked multiple times. Highly recommend this cabin. |

Great communication. Gorgeous space. Truly better than we even imagined and we were already excited. Everything you could need. Comfortable beds, great blackout curtains. Games in the basement were a blast. And the wood burning stove was a huge plus with our -20 arctic blast temps. Can’t wait to return! |

Wonderful getaway! | |
We had an amazing time at this cabin, the bed was extremely comfy, the hot tub was definately needed with the winter weather but it was so nice! We highly recommend it! 10/10, we will definately be going back in the future! |

Wonderful cottage near the mountaintop, tastefully furnished with large balconies facing the sunset and a jacuzzi for relaxation. We had little issues with the heating system but they responded super fast and fixed it remotely. Definitely a gem |

I cannot say enough about the beautiful weekend my fiance and I spent at the cabin. Stop scrolling; this is the mountain cabin you are looking for, for your weekend getaway to Harpers Ferry. |

Krista (review from Airbnb)
We loved our stay at Mountain Mama’s cabin. Some of the details we loved: The decor was cozy, the black out curtains and sound machines in the bedrooms, comfy beds and cozy bedding. The loft was a hit with our kids, with bean bag chairs, games and puzzles. The game room in the basement was another plus. We enjoyed watching the deer from the front porch and walking the fire road up to the AT. It’s a bit of a drive down the mountain to get anywhere, and 30 min to Harper’s ferry, but a great the excursion. The porch sunsets were fantastic, fire pit and hot tub a huge plus. It’s very secluded and quiet. All around a great stay. |
Melinda (review from Airbnb)
It was the perfect mix of cabin feel with “homey” convenience. Absolutely exactly what we needed. The beds were comfortable. The sheets, blankets and towels were abundant and very clean. Everything was neat as a pin! Nothing was broken or missing or not working. It was all it was all week remakes cared for and quality. The views were spectacular- we stopped in the middle of a game to go out on the porch altogether to watch the sunset. |
Daniel (review from Airbnb)
What a great stay. Exactly as described, great views, clean, up to date. We love it when someone cares about what they are providing to their guests. It shows in every detail. We would (and will!) book with Mountain Mama again. |
Sudipto (review from Airbnb)
The location was absolutely the best, you can see the mountains and the valley from the house. There was ample space for the 6 of us. The kitchen has plenty of utensils, Enough for cooking meals. The basement with ping ping and the hot tub outside were the best attractions. Communication & instructions were perfect and easy. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would recommend this place. |
Daniel (review from Airbnb)
Beautiful property with great views and very private. Even with being in the middle of the woods, we were very impressed with the cleanliness and most of the bugs being kept outside for our stay. Linen was very clean and bathrooms were full stocked with hand/body soap as well as shampoo and conditioner. Plenty to do with the family and plenty of space for a full family but also enjoyable with just my fiancé and I. Highly recommended property. |
Patrick (review from Airbnb)
the cabin is beautiful and hosted by professional and considerate owners. accomodations are more than expected and you have everything you need right there! completely surrounded by nature and the views are breathtaking! hot tub is a highlight and the Blackstone is a must have! we can't wait to come back! thank you mountain mama! |
Laura (review from Airbnb)
A wonderfully comfortable cabin with a gorgeous view in a secluded residential neighborhood. We used this spot as a halfway point between Harper's Ferry and Bluemont. We did one full day in each with our 2 young boys. They loved the cabin and didn't want to leave. The games in the basement, the view (sunsets are amazing), the nice interior decor, and the hot tub put this place above other mountain cabins we've stayed in. |

We enjoyed our stay and the close distance to the AT. We played every game on the days we couldn't hike. We went to eat at the anvil one day and had no complaints. We will rent this property again. Everything was as described |
Julie (review from Airbnb)
We've stayed at some wonderful Airbnb's before, but this was the first time we both gave one a 5 star rating! Very accurate description, great view from the porch rockers, super clean, comfortable bed, well-stocked kitchen, clear instructions for everything, easy check-in. Big fluffy towels, comfortable furniture. And wonderful suggestions about nearby places to visit, where to eat. Check-in was a breeze. A great place. |
Valerie (review from Airbnb)
Great cabin! Very comfortable beds, blackout curtains, and nice towels. Lots of great amenities and games. Great for groups or families! |
Sharon (review from Airbnb)
The folks at Mountain Mama were a pleasure to deal with. The online house guide was very helpful, and we referenced it multiple times during our stay. The location was perfect. It was at the end of the lane, so we had woods surrounding half the house. Every day, we were greeted by deer. The house has a lot of amenities. The game room in the basement, the loft that our kids wound sleeping in, the bean bag chairs! The kitchen was gorgeous and open, and they provided delicious coffee beans for a fresh cup each morning while rocking on the front porch. It was warmer on the upper floor, but they had plenty of fans to help with that. Note that there are two TV’s in the house - one in the loft and one in a smaller bedroom. So we actually wound up not watching very much TV while there, but instead played games, used the hot tub, sat on the porch, and worked on a puzzle all week! It’s a 25 minute drive to town, but nothing too bad. It was a little pricey for 4 nights but worth it in the long run for the time with our kids. |
Lisa (review from Airbnb)
Mountain Mama was an attentive and communicative host - from booking and throughout our stay. Check in instructions and house handbook were all easy to access online. When we had trouble with the AC they were quick to respond and attempt to fix the situation. Unfortunately, they were not able to do so during out stay as it was a holiday weekend. That said, they agreed to partial refund to make up for the inconvenience. The cabin itself is lovely. Sleeping space is comfortable and the loft was ideal for our kids to hang, play, etc. Views from the front deck were great, as was the hot tub (even if it was too hot for us to enjoy during out stay). Know that the cabin is a good 20+ minute drive from most stores and attractions outside hiking trails so it's ideal if you plan to hunker down. |
Zhen Tao (review from Airbnb)
Clean, comfortable and fun cabin with a very responsive owner. Original internet wasn’t good and owner was able to provide us access to another internet to connect to which is really helpful! Nice location with forest surrounded at mountain top, so naturally comes with the incredible view! We had great time here and will be back in future! |
Katherine (review from Airbnb)
We’ve been to a lot of cabins in the area, and this one might just be our new favorite. We had 4 adults and 2 babies, and had ample space. We appreciated the dark, heavy curtains and sound machines for our babies, who slept great the whole time we were there! The indoor-outdoor living was really nice. There’s a large wraparound porch with rocking chairs where you can enjoy your morning coffee or drink and take in the beautiful view of the mountains. It’s also fun to look for wildlife - we saw many deer, as well as wild turkeys, rabbits, and hawks. If you want to spend some time inside, you can still enjoy the beautiful view from the living room while you play board games provided by the host — Ticket to Ride, UNO, Monopoly, chess, puzzles, etc. You can also play basketball, ping pong, and foosball in the basement. We organized a tournament and had so much fun! Felt like kids again. If you want to get out and see more of the surrounding attractions, it’s a 30-min drive to Harper’s Ferry. The road is a bit windy but nothing an experienced driver can’t handle. Despite being deep in the woods, this cabin was just the right balance of rustic and more modern creature comforts. Nice shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, coffee, bean grinder, etc. We will be back! |
John (review from Airbnb)
We were very impressed with this cabin. It was spotless and everything worked perfectly. How they get such fast internet speeds in such a remote location is beyond me. Only a few things to keep in mind. The drive up from the main road is long. When there is no snow a car can do it easily, but there are some rough spots. The reason the drive is long is because you are on top of the world once you get there. Breathtaking sunsets (though it can be a little too bright about an hour before the sun starts to set). We have stayed at many other cabins in the Blue Ridge and never had a view as good as this one. The location is perfect for both Harpers Ferry as well as Charles Town. The host provided a wealth of information and reached out to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We highly recommend this location. |
Lindsay (review from Airbnb)
Excellent stay! House is very clean and has literally everything you need! Sheets are soft, comfortable beds, and the house is oh so cozy. Front porch sunset views are amazing and coffee on the porch in the morning is just as great!!! |
Laura (review from Airbnb)
This was an amazing experience. The hosts are super attentive and take into consideration everything to make the stay enjoyable, comfortable and smooth! The location was beautiful, the house truly felt like a get away with everything in place to inspire and renovate the soul. They also provided a very complete local guide which we were impressed with! Would totally stay here again and highly recommend! |

Perfect mountain getaway
I had a lovely 4 night stay with my spouse and 2 young children. My daughter really enjoyed the trundle bed and being 3 it was great for her to have a bed option closer to the ground. All rooms were outfitted with sound machines and blackout curtains which made recreating our home sleep environment easy! We loved the furniture and decor - very mountain appropriate :) Our 3 year old LOVED the play area upstairs - we spent a lot of time there watching shows and doing puzzles one day when the weather wasn't cooperating. The Appalachian trail access is only about 5 mins away, and we had a great shady hike one morning. Check in and out are so easy as well with the app Mountain Mama uses. Thanks so much for a great stay! |

What an amazing place to take a break. House is well stocked, good internet, lots of wild life, beautiful sunsets from the porch, and a private hot tub with a view. Easy check and communication. If you are looking for a quiet space to sit back and relax then this is the place. |

Perfect Cabin in the Woods
This place was great for my husband and I who were celebrating our anniversary. The cabin was so quiet, cozy, clean and had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable, towels were soft and wonderful. We even went into the hot tub which was super clean. We visited nearby Harper's Ferry and had the best dinner in Fredrick, Thatcher and Rye. Yes! to staying here. You won't be disappointed. |
Steve (review from Airbnb)
We had a great time at this cabin, nice homey touches, clean, beautiful location, all the comforts of home. Really enjoyed the rocking chairs and deck and all the wonderful wildlife surrounding us. Nice roomy kitchen, plenty of clean linens and towels, and a really cool gas griddle on the side deck for cooking outdoors. Woodburning fireplace that we didn't use since it was warm, but would be perfect for a cooler season. We didn't use the hot tub, but we peeked in there, it was clean and nice and warm. There was also a nice relaxation area above the kitchen with a big TV and games for the younger ones in the evenings or on rainy days. Everything you could ask for in a cozy mountain cabin! |
Courtney (review from Airbnb)
This house is immaculate. You truly get premium hotel-level accommodations at a fraction of the cost, and there are so many thoughtful touches throughout the house for guests. Don’t overpack, the house is absolutely well-stocked with everything you need, from coffee filters to games. I could go on and on about all the wonderful amenities. That said, our trip wasn’t perfect. We spent the first night very cold because the host had a thermostat setting we couldn’t override. This was resolved by the morning, after a couple of texts. The house manual is very detailed, so this didn’t feel quite like a care-free stay. My partner and I are “old”, rule- and law-abiding citizens, but we were paranoid about breaking a guideline and being fined. Communication was somewhat slow, however we were promptly reminded to be out on time before we even had our breakfast. This is an amazing cabin, but the service lacked the hospitality I’m used to with AirBnBs. Overall, still a great trip. Response: We're glad you enjoyed the house so much! The thermostat does not have a setting that cannot be overridden, so there seems to be some confusion about that. We were, however, able to answer your questions about the thermostat and fix your issue once you reached out for help. We do put lots of detailed information in the guidebooks so that guests know how to use things at the property--most of our guests love that! After looking at our message thread with you, the only time where it looks like communication was "slow" was your question via text at 10 pm which we answered promptly in the morning. We typically are not available via text message that late at night, but we are available 24/7 for urgent issues if you call rather than text (as we explain to guests). Finally we do text with a link to the check out instructions at 8 am on the day of check out. That may seem early, but we've found that guests often leave before 9 am, in which case it would be too late to reach out. I hope these few things did not detract too much from your trip, and we hope to host you again in the future! |

We had a great stay! The house was clean and well stocked. Our kids loved the ping pong, foosball, and basketball in the basement, and of course the hot-tub. We’d definitely come back next year! |

Great mountain retreat. The basement game room is a ton of fun. The place is super clean and comfortable. We had some wifi issues connecting and the TV was not connected to anything (it could connect but was not set up) but thats not why we went to the mountains and we eventually got connected. They had great games/cards to play. We wanted to stay an additional night and we would visit again. |

Our family came here during the last week of March for a much needed getaway and Mountain Mama made our stay exactly what we were looking for! The cabin’s location is spectacular - far enough away from others while accessible to many nearby attractions. Five of us could comfortably dine and be with one another while also having our own spaces when needed. There was a lot of thought out into the amenities and decor…all quality, functional, and cozy! The kids (and adults) had a ton of fun in the downstairs game room. The view from the front porch is gorgeous no matter the time of day as well as looking over the lights of the valley at night while in the hot tub. We cannot wait to come back! |

The description doesn't do the listing justice, it was even better than expected! The beds and furniture were very comfortable, the cabin was very clean and stocked more than we anticipated. Each room had a noise machine, floor fans, the comfiest throw blankets, and cute mountain decor. The view was amazing, it even snowed and was beautiful!! We had such a great weekend away! |
Lindsey (review from Airbnb)
We loved our stay at the mountain getaway! The home was packed with many necessities beyond our expectation (cooking supplies, first aid kit, fun games, etc). We had a great time in the home complete with gorgeous views, fur blankets, a lovely hot tub, smart tv, and games galore. We would absolutely stay again! |

My daughter and I wanted a few days away to relax and spend quality time together. The house was perfect and we had deer and turkeys come right up to our window. Kristen (review from Airbnb)
Flawless! The cabin feels brand new and was spotless. Plush towels, super comfortable mattress and pillows, fully stocked kitchen, and all extras included such as dish detergent, hand soap, oil, salt and pepper, etc. The view is incredible, and the family of deer made multiple appearances out back. The road up is paved, though covered in gravel in spots which made it tricky at times as the tires were skidding. I think any car can get up, though if you have an option take the 4 wheel drive. Communication with host was great. |

Incredible views of the valley below. Beautiful sunsets. Easy access to the AT. Fantastic host! If you're staying near the AT in Harpers Ferry, this is the place! |
Gina (review from Airbnb)
This cabin is absolutely gorgeous! Clean, well maintained and an absolutely beautiful view. We would definitely book again! Really up those mountain roads though! Had to use gps to get in and out every time! Haha Also the note about winter conditions and having 4-wheel drive is no joke. |
Dyanne (review from Airbnb)
Highly recommend this space for your getaway. The cabin was a delight, exactly as described, and perfect for our needs. The sunset views were fantastic!! We really enjoyed deer watching out the kitchen window on most days. The cabin was very quiet—we saw only one other person our entire stay—and access to the trail quite easy. The beds were comfortable and a lot of care was taken to ensure guests felt well cared for in the space. Do pay attention to the weather. We ended up leaving a day early due to incoming snow as the way up to the cabin is quite steep and we didn’t want to chance it. |
Katherine (review from Airbnb)
All around great spot. The house was perfect for a cabin get away. |
Sara (review from Airbnb)
Our family of 4 stayed here and had the most wonderful time. The location is beautiful (very isolated) and having easy access to the AT was awesome. The house (especially the kitchen) was well-stocked with everything you would need. Lots of great games and puzzles too! Eddie is a great host and we look forward to returning! The kids loved have a firepit (and s'mores) in the backyard. Side note for other families with toddlers: this house is not easily baby-proofed. There is a big step down from the kitchen to the living area all on hard floor. Our 1.5 year old thought it was the best activity ever, but it was big enough that she couldn't go down safely unsupervised and she's a decently coordinated toddler (but a little wild). There wasn't a great way to block it off with furniture or pillows. Didn't detract from our experience, but kept us on our toes during our stay. |
Monica (review from Airbnb)
We had a wonderful stay , the kids loved the basement with entertainment and such. The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay. Definitely bring all the food you think you’ll need, there’s a convenient store at the bottom but it doesn’t have much. The view is fantastic and the Wilde life will help you have an unforgettable experience. The house is located very close to the Appalachian trail, what a treat. Thank you Eddie! We’ll definitely come back. |

A beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting — it was just what we were looking for as a site for a family get-together. |
Lauren (review from Airbnb)
The location of this Airbnb is serene and picturesque. On the way up the mountain, trees mostly obscure the view of the valley below, but some trees on the property have been cleared away for a fantastic view of the valley below from the front porch. In the morning and evening, there were 4 deer that stopped by to graze in the backyard, and one morning, a group of wild turkeys. The wild turkeys were further back in the woods, but you could see them due to the lack of foliage this time of the year. The best thing is that you can watch the backyard wildlife from the big picture window in the kitchen. The kitchen was well-stocked with nearly everything you can think of for food prep, cooking, and food storage. There is a country store that offers nice sundries near the Airbnb, but I recommend visiting a full service grocery store beforehand and plan to cook. The atmosphere of the house complements the natural world that surrounds. The log cabin aesthetic and forest animal and hiking décor are charming. The games and game room are fun amenities that offer a nice variety of distraction for evenings in after a day of hiking. The nearest AT access point is reached via a side trail that starts up the street from the Airbnb. It took us about 15-20 minutes to reach the AT from the access trail. There were a few small things we recommended to the host for next time, but we found the stay to be enjoyable and we had a good time! |

Amazingly clean, comfortable, and charming place. Perfect for an overnight stay with friends to have a quiet evening, rocking in the chairs on the porch as the sun goes down, sipping wine by the fire pit, and then curling up in cozy bedding. Wonderful decor and thoughtful touches. This place has everything you could need to also enjoy a meal with friends or family, entertain little ones, and take a deep breath away from the everyday hustle and bustle. |

We had a wonderful mini-vacation. The location was amazing. It felt so secluded in the woods, as the place is at the end of the road. The kids had a blast with the games and toys. I loved watching the sunset from a rocker. There is a great vibe to the place, and we definitely recommend it. |

Amazing mountaintop cabin with breath-taking views! It was perfect for our group. Kids loved the downstairs space with games, while the adults enjoyed the relaxed pace, front porch sitting, and toasty wood stove heat. The complimentary wine and whole bean coffee were thoughtful touches. We found the kitchen to be well-stocked (pots, pans, utensils, spices, oil). Additionally, we enjoyed grilling out on the deck and making s'mores in the outdoor fire area. Eddie was extremely helpful and communicated well during all parts of our visit. Highly recommend this property and Eddie as a host! We hope to come back in the future! |

This cabin is beautiful, the views are fantastic, the porch is great, the kitchen well appointed, the towels fluffy, AND the bed was so comfy! Lovely cabin in a beautiful location
The cabin is lovely - spacious but cozy, very clean, and you'll find everything you need in the kitchen, etc. The location is gorgeous - with a porch that overlooks a beautiful view. It's in the woods/mountains so you feel removed from the city, but it's a short drive to Harper's Ferry. The hosts were very helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend this place! |

This was our first stay in Harper’s Ferry and with Mountain Mama. We were a party of 6 and found the place great for our size. As we entered off Gate 1 road the views were great. We even saw several deer along the way. As we arrived at the house we were taken back by the beauty of it all. We immediately started a fire in the wood burning stove and set off to the grocery which was about 20min away. We found everything we needed at Red Lion. The kitchen was well equipped nicely for making dinner and breakfast. We also enjoyed the games in the basement to include some basketball and ping pong. Having 6 rocking chairs on the porch was a nice touch considering we were a party of six! We also enjoyed the board games and even left a Board game from the Philippines in the cabin to be used by future guests! Thanks Eddie for accommodating us. When we get back to the area we look forward to staying at another Mountain Mama property...maybe the one with the hot tub... |

My family and I had a great time in this cozy, well-appointed cabin. The owners have set it up beautifully and there was even a welcome bottle of wine waiting for us when we got in. The rocking chairs on the front porch were a highlight. Communication was easy and prompt. We would absolutely stay here again. |
